Dr. Lillian Nghe is a therapeutic optometrist trained in the treatment and management of eye diseases including glaucoma, specialty contact lenses, and preoperative and postoperative LASIK surgery. In addition to treating ocular diseases which tend to affect older adults, Dr. Nghe sees many school-aged children with climbing prescriptions. Dr. Nghe enjoys helping children as young as 8 years old for myopia progression through Orthokeratology, MiSight lenses, and Atropine eye drops, all of which require extensive training and certifications.
Dr. Nghe earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Nutritional Sciences specializing in Dietetics from the University of California at Berkeley. She continued on to pursue her Doctorate in Optometry degree at the New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts. She completed her ocular disease and low vision externships at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Hudson Valley, New York and the Perkins School for the Blind in Boston, Massachusetts.
While in optometry school, Dr. Nghe served as co-president of the Lions Club and coordinated health and vision screenings for the underserved population outside Greater Boston. After witnessing the Boston Marathon Bombings in 2013, Dr. Nghe reached out to the local American Red Cross to help organize and recruit volunteers for the Boston Strong Blood Drive through the Lions Club. She is passionate about providing the best care to her patients as well as giving back to the community. Besides English, Dr. Nghe also speaks some Spanish and some Mandarin Chinese.
