Over the summer, our family traveled to Taiwan, where Essilor Stellest® lenses were already available before they were FDA‑approved in the United States. Taiwan has one of the highest rates of myopia in the world—affecting over 80–90% of teens and young adults. This makes it a natural place to be open to new solutions for slowing nearsightedness.
As both an optometrist and a mom, I feel relieved knowing she can handle the near‑work and academic demands of school with less worry about myopia progression. It’s reassuring to see her succeed with comfort and confidence, and I’m excited to offer the same opportunity to local families here in Pasadena and Arcadia now that Stellest® lenses are FDA‑authorized in the U.S.
